Actress Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller is a British actress that Americans can nominally claim as their own. She was born in New York City to an American father and raised in the United Kingdom.

The actress, who turns 26 today, is a former model who designs clothes. Her movies include the recent remake of Alfie, as well as Factory Girl, in which she played Andy Warhol's artistic protege Edie Sedgwick.

Oh yeah, she had a very public and very publicly contentious relationship with actor Jude Law.

Seventies supermodel Beverly Johnson

Beverly Johnson was among several black fashion models that appeared in the early seventies in the wake of Naomi Sims's success.

At first, many of the modeling jobs she had involved catalog and department store work, such as the black-and-white picture above and the color photo, from a Sears ad, below.

Then the photograph below, taken by Francesco Scavullo, appeared on the August 1974 cover of the U.S. edition of Vogue - the first time a black model had ever graced the cover of a mainstram women's fashion magazine in America.
Though she has had success as a model, her attempt to become an actress fell flat. Her acting ability wasn't necessarly in question, nor was racism really a factor. She just had the horrible luck of appearing in movies that didn't make it, nor deserved to.

But the still picture camera still loves her, even if the motion picture camera didn't. :-)

Sixties supermodel Karen Harris

Before Karen Graham, there was Karen Harris.

Karen Harris was the Estée Lauder company's second spokesmodel, holding that lucrative position from 1965 to 1970, when Karen Graham replaced her. (Model Phyliis Connor was the first.) Mademoiselle Harris's look clearly exudes the style of the swinging sixties. :-)

As with so many pictures for Estée Lauder ads, these were taken by Victor Skrebneski.

Actress Jennifer Garner

Is Jennifer Garner the cutest actress to ever grace a television screen? :-)

Jennifer Garner catapulted to stardom in the ABC series "Alias," in which she played secret agent Syndey Bristow, skilled at quick-identity changes. Her movie credits include Catch Me If You Can and 13 Going on 30.

She has been married to Ben Affleck since 2005. She is currently appearing in "Cyrano de Bergerac" on Broadway.

Jennifer Eccleston has been a news correpsondent for all three major American cable news networks - CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. She currently is at CNN as an international correspondent.

Much of her reporting has been from the front lines in Iraq.

Patricia Clarkson and Kate Winslet: Two Beauties For the Price of One!

Here's a great picture of Patricia Clarkson with Kate Winslet at the premiere of the 2006 remake of All The King's Men, in which they both appeared.

Too bad the movie was a flop. :-O

Patricia Clarkson first caught people's attention as a television reporter in the 1988 Dirty Harry movie The Dead Pool, and has been a consistent presence in movies ever since.

Australian actress Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett is one of the most accomplished actresses ever to come from Down Under.

Blanchett made her international film debut in 1997 as an Australian nurse who is captured by the Japanese in the movie Paradise Road. She broke through in a big way the following year, though, with her role as Queen Elizabeth I of England in Elizabeth.

She played Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator, and she also portrayed the scandalous, psychologically tormented teacher Sheba Hart in Notes On a Scandal.
